Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, has announced the appointment of Dr. Matthew Kroh as Chief Medical Officer for Advanced and General Surgical Technologies. A board-certified general surgeon with specialized training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, as well as surgical endoscopy, Dr. Kroh brings extensive clinical and leadership experience to guide Medtronic’s product development and commercialization strategies in its Surgical business.
Currently serving as Division Chief for Foregut and Surgical Endoscopy at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Kroh is a recognized leader in surgical research and innovation. He has significant expertise in early-phase clinical trials and the development of minimally invasive techniques, including robotics and single-incision laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Kroh has authored over 175 peer-reviewed articles and is actively involved in several scientific committees.
In his new role at Medtronic, Dr. Kroh will contribute to advancing surgical technologies while continuing his clinical practice at the Cleveland Clinic. This appointment highlights Medtronic's focus on leveraging top medical expertise to drive innovation and improve patient outcomes globally.
