ONWARD Medical N.V., a leading medtech company focused on spinal cord stimulation therapies, has announced the appointment of Rob ten Hoedt to its Board of Directors, with plans for him to become Chairman at the end of the year, following the retirement of Jan Ohrstrom. Ten Hoedt, former Executive Vice-President at Medtronic and Chairman of MedTech Europe, brings extensive experience in technology development and business innovation. His expertise will be valuable as ONWARD transitions to a commercial entity with the upcoming launch of its ARC-EX System in the U.S.
Additionally, Rahma Samow, a leader in digital health and direct-to-consumer business, will join the Board. Samow currently serves as President and CEO of ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers and previously held key roles at Siemens Healthineers and Straumann Group.
The appointments of Ten Hoedt and Samow will be formally ratified at the 2025 Annual General Meeting, and Ten Hoedt will assume the Chairman role in December. These changes align with ONWARD's strategy to expand its commercial activities and further its mission of helping people with spinal cord injuries.
