Zimmer Biomet has appointed Jonathan M. Vigdorchik as Chief Science, Technology and Medical Affairs Officer, further strengthening the company’s leadership in medical technology innovation and clinical engagement.
In his new role, Dr. Vigdorchik will oversee the strategy, development, and management of Zimmer Biomet’s global technology portfolio, including artificial intelligence, robotics, smart implants, and data-driven healthcare technologies. He will also lead the company’s Medical Education strategy and Global Advisory Board initiatives, helping advance clinical collaboration, scientific leadership, and innovation across the orthopedic sector. Dr. Vigdorchik will report directly to Ivan Tornos.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Vigdorchik served as Zimmer Biomet’s Chief Medical Technology Advisor for Adult Reconstruction and Hip Implants. He is also a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery, where he specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery. During his career, he has held several academic and clinical leadership roles, including Division Chief for national and international reputation and academic promotion within the Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement service at HSS, as well as Director of Bone Implant Longevity Research at the institution’s Griffin Research Accelerator.
In addition, Dr. Vigdorchik currently serves as an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College and remains active in professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
Dr. Vigdorchik earned his medical degree from University of Missouri School of Medicine and completed advanced orthopedic and joint reconstruction training at leading medical institutions in the United States and internationally.
