Renata Medical, an emerging leader in medical devices for children with congenital heart disease (CHD), has appointed Dr. Evan Zahn, MD, as its new Chief Medical Officer.
Dr. Zahn will join the company full-time, transitioning from his leadership role at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His move marks a significant milestone for both Renata Medical and the broader pediatric interventional cardiology community.
Internationally recognized for his contributions to pediatric and congenital interventional cardiology, Dr. Zahn brings more than two decades of clinical expertise, innovation, and mentorship. Throughout his career, he has helped transform the treatment landscape for infants and children with complex heart conditions, pioneering catheter-based therapies that reduce the need for repeat open-heart surgeries - particularly among high-risk neonatal and infant patients.
In his new role, Dr. Zahn will lead Renata’s clinical strategy, research and development, medical education, and global physician engagement efforts. He will play a central role in expanding the company’s clinical evidence base and guiding the development of next-generation, growth-accommodating solutions designed to improve long-term outcomes for CHD patients. His leadership is also expected to strengthen collaboration with regulators, payers, and healthcare stakeholders as the company scales its global footprint.
Dr. Zahn’s appointment signals a new chapter for Renata Medical, reinforcing its commitment to clinician-driven innovation and improved lifetime care for children living with congenital heart disease.
