Stellar Health Appoints Falko Buttler as Chief Technology Officer

Stellar Health has appointed Falko Buttler as its Chief Technology Officer, strengthening the company's commitment to advancing AI-powered technology and data infrastructure for value-based healthcare.

The appointment supports Stellar's strategy of delivering scalable technology solutions that enable payors and providers to improve care delivery and patient outcomes.

Buttler brings more than 20 years of experience in healthcare technology and engineering leadership. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Lantern, where he led an engineering organization of more than 100 professionals. During his tenure, he transitioned the company from an offshore engineering model to a high-performing local team while supporting 40% year-over-year business growth.

Before joining Lantern, Buttler was part of the leadership team at PlushCare, helping grow the business from US$4 million to US$125 million in revenue before its acquisition by Accolade. He later served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Accolade, leading an 80-person global engineering organization and overseeing the integration of virtual primary care platforms following the acquisition.

As CTO, Buttler will lead Stellar's AI and data-driven platform strategy, focusing on intelligent workflows that improve operational efficiency for more than 20,000 healthcare providers and 2,200 medical practices within the company's network. Planned innovations include automating appointment scheduling, streamlining specialist referrals, and reducing administrative documentation to allow providers to focus more on patient care.

Alongside Buttler's appointment, Stellar Co-Founder Octavian Costache will transition from Chief Technology Officer to Chief Data Officer. In his new role, Costache will lead the company's AI-first data engineering strategy while working closely with Buttler on cross-functional technology initiatives. Together, their leadership is expected to accelerate Stellar Health's next phase of growth through continued investment in AI, data, and digital innovation.
