This new device, which was unveiled at the Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery (PODD) conference in Boston, MA last month, is the world’s first injectable CSTD.
CSTDs are essential for safeguarding healthcare workers from hazardous drug exposure, a protection now mandated by the US USP800 legislation.
Currently, no devices meet this requirement for healthcare workers administering subcutaneous or intramuscular injections.
VaporShield offers a true closed system, ensuring safety from drug draw to injection and through to disposal, while also incorporating the key safety features of the Aeroject™ auto-retractable syringe, which prevents needlestick injuries.
Zephyrus’ syringes are used in healthcare facilities for both paediatric and adult patients, allowing medical professionals to safely administer fluids via aspiration and injection.
