Olympus Corporation has launched the VISERA ELITE™ III surgical imaging platform in the United States, marking a major advancement in surgical visualisation, workflow efficiency, and multispecialty flexibility.
Co-developed with SONY Olympus Medical (SOMED), this next-generation system integrates advanced imaging technologies into a single software-driven platform for minimally invasive surgery across multiple specialties.
VISERA ELITE III offers True 4K and 3D imaging, Continuous Auto Focus, Narrow Band Imaging™ (NBI™), Yellow Enhancement (YE), ENDOEYE™ videoscopes, and Fluorescence-Guided Surgery (IR/ICG) in full 4K White Light and high-contrast Magenta Mode.
The platform supports specialties including arthroscopy, colorectal, ENT, bariatric, thoracic, gynaecology, urology, HPB transplant, and general surgery.
It is compatible with prior Olympus videoendoscopes, helping hospitals maximise existing equipment while reducing redundancy.
The system is designed to improve clinical decision-making, enhance critical structure identification, streamline operating room workflows, and integrate seamlessly with electronic health records.
Surgeons may benefit from faster suturing, clearer visualisation of vessels and nerves, and improved precision during procedures.
By standardising equipment and supporting multiple specialties, VISERA ELITE III aims to improve patient outcomes while optimising investment in surgical technology.
