H2 Medical Technologies' First-of-Its-Kind Hydrogen Therapy for Alzheimer’s Treatment

A Czech MedTech company, H2 Medical Technologies, has announced what it claims to be the world’s first patented hydrogen-based therapy designed to help prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s currently affects more than 6.5 million people in the United States and an estimated 50 million worldwide. The World Health Organization predicts that these numbers could triple by 2050, creating significant pressure on families and health services. Despite decades of research, effective solutions have remained elusive.

The new hydrogen therapy, developed in partnership with molecular hydrogen expert Professor Shigeo Ohta, is positioned as a potential breakthrough after more than 30 years of scientific work. The company reports that further validation is expected through upcoming clinical trials.

H2 Medical Technologies, part of the H2 Global Group, will showcase its innovation at LSI Europe 2025 in London, one of the leading international conferences in the medical and health technology sector.

While the main focus is on Alzheimer’s, the company suggests that the therapy may also have applications in wider neurological conditions, brain repair and healthy ageing.

In addition to medical devices, H2 Global Group has introduced consumer products such as H2 Premium Water® and H2 Brain®, a dietary supplement designed to stimulate hydrogen production in the gut microbiome.

The group is also the only certified global manufacturer permitted to use hydrogen-based medical devices in veterinary care.

Hydrogen-based solutions from the company are already in use in wellness centres, rehabilitation clinics, dental practices and professional sports organisations across Europe, pointing to broad opportunities for the technology.
