Hologic, Inc. has received the MedTech Breakthrough Award for “Best New Imaging Technology Solution” for its Genius AI Detection PRO platform. The award recognises the company’s ongoing work in advancing digital health and medical technology, particularly in women’s health.

Artificial intelligence is becoming an increasingly important tool in supporting radiologists by helping to identify suspicious areas more quickly and accurately during mammography screening.
Genius AI Detection PRO analyses both 2D and 3D mammography images, drawing on large, high-quality databases of benign and biopsy-confirmed cancers.
The platform assigns a score from 1 to 10 for each detected area, as well as overall scores per breast and per case. These scores help radiologists assess risk levels and prioritise cases more efficiently.
The system builds on Hologic’s earlier Genius AI Detection 2.0 platform, introducing enhanced lesion scoring, pre-populated reports and a deep-learning algorithm that incorporates prior patient exams into current analyses.
The platform also integrates breast density scoring, mammogram quality data and patient information into a single interface.
