Algernon Health Inc. has launched NovaScan Neuroimaging Clinics™ as the new brand for its planned network of brain PET scanning centres in the United States.
The first clinic is expected to open at the HCA Florida University Medical Offices building in Davie and will use the FDA-cleared CareMiBrain™ system, a dedicated brain PET scanner without a built-in CT component.
The new brand reflects a modern and focused approach to brain imaging, with an emphasis on efficiency, high-quality reporting, and improved patient comfort.
Its design features simple visual elements inspired by the structure of the brain and themes of cognitive health.
The Florida facility will offer specialised scans to support the detection and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease by identifying beta-amyloid plaques.
It will also be used to assess other neurological conditions such as dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and brain cancer. In addition, the centre will support clinical trials for new imaging tracers.
The CareMiBrain™ system is designed to reduce radiation exposure by around 25% compared to traditional PET/CT scanners, as it operates without a CT component.
