Introduction:
UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals has approved for the construction of new Hospital on Oakland campus.
Features:
The 277,500-square-foot facility will feature an expanded emergency department, offering double the current space to enhance the hospital’s renowned child-centered trauma care.
The added capacity will facilitate more efficient treatment and accommodate modernized imaging and surgical services, a new neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
It also includes seven additional surgical suites.
Moreover, it will include a much-needed 20-bed inpatient behavioral health unit.
The hospital's construction is expected to be completed by 2030.
