St. Charles Hospital Breaks Ground On $10 Million Emergency Department Expansion
St. Charles Hospital holds ceremonial groundbreaking for $10 million Emergency Department expansion, attended by Catholic Health executives, hospital staff, and local elected officials.
The expansion will include an additional 4,000 square feet of space and accommodate 10 more treatment bays.
A larger waiting room and extra nursing and charging stations will also be part of the expansion.
To improve patient flow from the ED to the inpatient setting, there will be a dedicated Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Room with a fully equipped CT scan.
The focus of the expansion is to manage patient flow better and cater to the specific needs of those seeking emergency care, ultimately resulting in improved patient care quality.
Furthermore, the ED expansion will provide a separate waiting room and treatment area specifically designed for medically supervised chemical dependency detoxification and rehabilitation.
This separate area will allow for specialized care for dependency patients, ensuring their distinct needs are met efficiently and safely.
The anticipated completion of St. Charles Hospital's ED expansion is set for the end of summer 2024.
