Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Begins Construction of New Union Medical Center Campus

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Commences Construction of $55 Million Replacement Facility for Union Medical Center

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System is embarking on the construction of a new Union Medical Center campus, which will include a replacement hospital and a medical office building.

The design of the campus will prioritize accessibility and high-quality care, featuring open spaces, large windows, and natural elements.

Amenities such as a chapel for prayer and a healing garden at the entrance will be included in the campus.

Spanning three stories, the campus will cover a total area of 99,600 square feet.

The new Union Medical Center campus signifies a significant investment in enhancing healthcare services and providing modern facilities to benefit the Union County community.

The range of medical services offered at the new campus will encompass emergency care, imaging, infusion services at Gibbs Cancer Center, inpatient care, lab services, mammography services at the Bearden-Josey Center for Breast Health, outpatient services, pharmacy services, and primary care.

The campus will be located along Highway 176, situated across from Union Industrial Park. It will be approximately four miles away from the current hospital.

Throughout the campus, there will be photographs showcasing the iconic scenes of Union County, reflecting the hospital's commitment to the community.

The site preparation for the new facility commenced in spring 2023, and the construction is anticipated to be completed by 2025.
