Phase II Construction of Health Facility Underway at Connecticut Children's in USA

Introduction:
Connecticut Children's Hospital has begun the second phase of work on a $326 million state-of-the-art health facility in Hartford, Connecticut, USA.

Features:
The plan is to build a 190,000-square-foot clinical tower on the hospital's front lawn, which will be seamlessly integrated to the existing medical centre.

The clinical tower will include two stories and 50 private neonatal critical care rooms, providing neonates with specialized treatment. It will also have a foetal care center with six labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum rooms, allowing pregnant mothers to receive full treatment.

The skyscraper will also include two specialized operating rooms and a modern gene therapy section, making procedures like bone marrow transplants and liquid radiation treatments possible.

A 14-bed adjustable acuity unit will also be available to accommodate patients with varied degrees of acuity.

Inpatient levels will feature open-air terraces that will provide respite for families and healthcare staff.

The building will have enlarged kitchen capabilities as well as cutting-edge meeting and conference areas, which will improve the teaching element of the school. To meet the requirements of patients and visitors, the health centre will also include a pharmacy and a gift store.

The completion date for this project is anticipated for late 2025.
