Penn Medicine Expands Footprint with $401M Cancer Facility at Princeton Health

Introduction:

Penn Medicine has begun construction on the Penn Medicine Princeton Cancer Centre, a $401 million development aimed at improving cancer care for patients and families across Central New Jersey and surrounding regions.

Features:

The new centre marks the largest expansion of Princeton Health since the hospital’s relocation in 2012. It will provide a comprehensive range of cancer services under one roof, supported by disease-specific specialists and multidisciplinary teams working alongside experts from the Abramson Cancer Centre in Philadelphia.

The facility will include more than 40 examination rooms, 30 infusion chairs, and two linear accelerators for radiation therapy.

Patients will have access to advanced diagnostic technologies such as CT, MRI, and SPECT/CT scanners, designed to enhance early cancer detection and guide precise treatment.

A breast imaging suite and a new imaging centre are also planned, supported by a recently completed six-storey parking garage.

Through a fully integrated electronic medical record system, patients will experience seamless coordination of care across Penn Medicine sites.

This will enable many services—such as pre- and post-operative consultations—to be delivered close to home while maintaining access to highly specialised treatments, including proton therapy and personalised cell therapies, at other Penn Medicine locations.

The Penn Medicine Princeton Cancer Centre is scheduled for completion and opening in May 2028.
