NSW Health Announces $95 Million Redevelopment of Temora Hospital

Introduction

Construction has begun on the $95 million redevelopment of Temora Hospital, a major project aimed at improving health services for Temora and surrounding communities within the Murrumbidgee Local Health District. The start of the main construction works was marked by a traditional sod-turning ceremony on site.

Features

The redevelopment will provide modern facilities and enhanced services, allowing residents to access high-quality care closer to home.

The new facility includes a state-of-the-art Emergency Department and an inpatient unit designed for flexible use, accommodating medical, surgical, rehabilitation, maternity, and palliative care needs.

It features a birthing and nursery suite, as well as a purpose-built operating theatre and procedure room within the perioperative suite.

Allied health and ambulatory clinics are complemented by a gymnasium, while community health services encompass mental health, drug, and alcohol support.

The hospital has expanded its medical imaging capabilities, introducing its first CT scanner and a new ultrasound service.

Additionally, improvements have been made to car parking, with separate entries for emergency and service vehicles.

The redevelopment is scheduled for completion in 2028.
