Supported by a £12 million investment from NUH and NHS England, the project will redesign and enlarge the current facility, transforming it into a spacious, cutting-edge unit equipped to meet growing demand.

The expansion will increase clinical capacity by adding a third procedure room, allowing the unit to handle a greater number of complex endoscopic procedures.

Improved patient comfort through enhanced privacy, dignity, and safety measures.

Full compliance with national guidelines for endoscopy services, including ventilation and room dimensions.

In addition to treating NUH patients, the QMC endoscopy unit also handles advanced cases referred from nearby hospitals. The upgraded facility will further strengthen its role as a key regional provider.

Staff will gain access to modernized training resources, reinforcing QMC’s reputation as a leading centre for endoscopy education and high-quality care.

The newly upgraded endoscopy unit at QMC is expected to open in early 2026.
