New US$52 million Emergency Care Construction at Mather Hospital

Introduction:
Mather Hospital has started construction of a new US$52 million, 26,000-square-foot Emergency Department in New York, USA.

Features:
The Frey Family Emergency Department will be the name of the new facility.

The new Emergency Department will be twice the size of Mather's current Emergency Department, and it will be designed to maximize patient privacy and carer assistance while also increasing process efficiencies and incorporating best practises for patient safety.

The new building will be built on the hospital's north side. It will have individual private rooms and a split-flow architecture, which has been shown to speed up the treatment and discharge of patients with lower-acuity disorders and hospital admissions for patients with higher-acuity conditions.

Imaging services such as X-ray, ultrasound, and CT technology will be available, as well as isolation rooms for infectious disease control and dedicated treatment space for patients undergoing a mental health crisis.

The new Emergency Department's construction is scheduled to be completed in 2025.
