NCH and Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Invest $350M in Women’s and Children’s Care Infrastructure

Introduction

Naples Comprehensive Health (NCH), in partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, has announced a major plan to expand services for women and children in Southwest Florida. The project is supported by a significant philanthropic gift from the Bill and Julia Van Domelen Foundation. The investment will create the Van Domelen Institute for Women and Children and fund the construction of the Van Domelen Pavilion for Women and Children at the NCH North Hospital campus.

Features

The Van Domelen Institute for Women and Children will bring together care for women and children under one coordinated model.

Services will include maternal and fetal medicine, prenatal and postnatal care, pelvic floor therapy, menopause support, and specialist paediatric care.

The Institute will also focus on prevention, education, and long-term health management, extending care beyond the hospital into the community.

The Van Domelen Pavilion for Women and Children will be a new four-storey building covering 156,000 square feet, constructed above the existing emergency departments at NCH North Hospital.

The facility will include modern labour and delivery rooms, advanced operating theatres, expanded women’s health services, enhanced maternal-fetal medicine, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

A rooftop helipad will allow for fast emergency transport when urgent care is needed.
