Introduction
Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital has begun construction on a $277.5 million expansion to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Cypress and Waller communities.
Features
The project centres on a new six-storey patient tower that will increase the hospital’s capacity to 201 beds, with potential to grow to 345 beds at full occupancy, and provide a broader range of services for local residents.
The expansion will include a new six-storey patient tower housing additional inpatient services, including TIRR Memorial Hermann inpatient rehabilitation.
Fifty-two new beds will be added, comprising 12 rehabilitation beds and 40 acute care beds. The emergency department will be enlarged to double its capacity and include eight dedicated paediatric emergency beds.
The project will also add four operating theatres, expand Women’s Services with an obstetric emergency department, one obstetric operating theatre, and a larger neonatal ICU.
A new catheterisation lab and neuro endovascular suite will be added, alongside expanded pharmacy, laboratory, and sterile processing departments.
The development will include a larger parking garage and renovations to the existing main tower, kitchen, café, and dining areas.
The expansion is expected to be completed in 2027, providing enhanced access to high-quality healthcare services for the Northwest Houston community.
