Eurobodalla Regional Hospital to Undergo $330M Transformation

Introduction

Construction has reached the highest point for the new $330 million Eurobodalla Regional Hospital, bringing communities across the region closer to improved health services. The purpose-built hospital will provide modern facilities, reducing the need for residents to travel outside the area for care and addressing the growing needs of the Eurobodalla Shire, from Narooma to Batemans Bay.

Features

The hospital will be a Level 4 facility, bringing a wide range of health services together under one roof.

It will include a larger Emergency Department than the combined services of the current Moruya and Batemans Bay hospitals, an eight-bed Intensive Care Unit and Close Observation Unit, expanded access to chemotherapy treatments and renal dialysis, and modern surgical and operating theatres, including a day surgery unit.

The facility will also have an enlarged medical imaging department with MRI, ambulatory care and outpatient services, paediatric and maternity services with a special care nursery, and short-term mental health beds.

The structural works are now complete, with internal fit-out, service installations, façade work, and external construction continuing. The new hospital is expected to be finished in 2027.
