Introduction:
Corewell Health has started work on a major extension and refurbishment of its Lakewood Care Centre in Holland, Michigan. The $43.7 million project will add 40,000 square feet to the existing building and renovate a further 60,000 square feet, creating a total of 100,000 square feet of modernised healthcare space.
Key Features:
The development aims to increase access to primary, specialist and diagnostic services for the local community.
The expansion and renovation will modernise the first and second floors of the existing centre and add a new two-storey wing linked to the current building.
It will provide more examination and procedure rooms, new MRI and CT units, an additional ultrasound room, and expanded laboratory, imaging and rehabilitation spaces.
The development will introduce haematology, oncology and infusion services, increase capacity for specialist care and create a cancer wellness centre.
Parking will also be reconfigured to replace spaces lost to the construction and meet local planning requirements.
The project is expected to take around 24 months to finish, with full completion planned for 2026.
