CMC Begins Construction on Nashua’s First Standalone Emergency Room with $16 Million Investment

Introduction

Catholic Medical Center (CMC), part of HCA Healthcare, has begun construction on the first freestanding emergency room in Nashua, New Hampshire. The development aims to improve access to urgent medical care for residents in the southern part of the state.

Features

The new facility will provide 24/7 emergency services and high-acuity care similar to hospital-based emergency departments.

The 11,000-square-foot building will include 11 treatment bays with a dedicated trauma bay, advanced imaging services such as CT, ultrasound and radiology, on-site laboratory facilities, a covered ambulance entrance, and separate waiting and treatment areas for children.

Around 30 clinical staff, including board-certified emergency doctors, will operate the centre.
The facility is designed to support patients with serious conditions including heart emergencies, stroke and major injuries.

Opening is planned for mid-2026, following completion of renovations and staffing.
