Introduction
Cleveland Clinic has broken ground on a US$322 million expansion of Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital and the Richard E. Jacobs Health Centre in Ohio, US. The project will add approximately 250,000 square feet of clinical space and expand healthcare capacity across emergency, inpatient, outpatient, diagnostic and cancer services.
Features
The development will include an expanded Emergency Department, additional MRI and CT imaging capabilities, and a larger Cancer Centre with increased treatment and infusion space.
Two new external beam radiation oncology machines will also be installed.
Surgical capacity will increase through additional operating rooms, while more medical-surgical beds and an expanded Intensive Care Unit will support growing inpatient demand.
The Richard E. Jacobs Health Centre will also be expanded to accommodate increased outpatient services.
A new parking garage will provide additional capacity for patients and visitors.
The project is intended to improve access to advanced care, increase operational capacity and support the growing healthcare needs of communities across Lorain County.
