ChristianaCare Plans $865 Million Investment to Expand Health Services in Delaware

Introduction

ChristianaCare has announced plans to invest over $865 million in expanding and enhancing healthcare services across the state over the next three years. The new investment aims to improve healthcare access, support local communities, and generate significant economic benefits through job creation and construction.

Key Features

The plan is guided by a community health needs assessment conducted every three years. This assessment includes input from local residents and community leaders.

The investment reflects ChristianaCare’s ongoing commitment to value-based care, with a strong focus on primary, behavioural, cancer, surgical, and rehabilitative services.

Recognising Delaware’s ageing and changing population, the expansion aims to increase access to high-quality care throughout Kent, Sussex, and New Castle counties.

Many of the projects are expected to create new jobs and stimulate economic growth through construction and long-term healthcare roles.

This facility is scheduled opening set for early 2027.
