Introduction
Construction of Bluffton’s first full-service hospital has reached an important stage as Beaufort Memorial completed the topping-off ceremony for the Beaufort Memorial Bluffton Community Hospital. The new hospital is being built at 10 Innovation Drive, at the junction of Bluffton Parkway and Buckwalter Parkway, marking a major step forward for healthcare access in southern Beaufort County.
Features
The $103 million facility will include 28 inpatient beds and will be the first hospital of its kind in Bluffton.
It is designed to offer essential medical services closer to home for residents south of the Broad River.
The hospital will provide a round-the-clock emergency department, operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation laboratory, inpatient nursing units, and a full range of imaging and diagnostic services.
The new hospital is expected to reduce travel times for patients, improve access to urgent and planned care, and relieve pressure on the main Beaufort campus.
It will also support the recruitment of new doctors and specialists, helping to strengthen healthcare services across the Lowcountry.
The hospital is scheduled to be completed in late 2026, with plans to welcome its first patients in early 2027.
