First-of-Its-Kind Innovation: Beta Bionics Introduces Prefilled Insulin Cartridge for the iLet Bionic Pancreas

Beta Bionics, a medical technology company focused on diabetes, has recently received FDA 510(k) clearance for the compatibility of its iLet automated insulin-delivery system with the Fiasp® Pumpcart® prefilled insulin cartridge. The iLet is unique as the first and only insulin-delivery system that doesn't require carb counting, fully automating 100% of all user insulin doses. With this clearance, users will have the option to choose between three insulins: Novolog®, Humalog®, and Fiasp® Pumpcart®. This new compatibility will save users time, as they won't need to manually fill cartridges, and it offers more flexibility for diabetes management.

The iLet was designed to simplify diabetes management and reduce the expertise needed for traditional insulin pumps. Setting up and managing the iLet is straightforward, requiring only the user's weight as input. There's no need for carb counting, bolusing, correction factors, insulin-to-carb ratios, or pre-set basal rates. The iLet effectively manages glucose levels with a simple meal announcement, taking care of the rest of the process. Additionally, it is integrated with the Dexcom G6 Continuous Glucose Monitoring System for accurate glucose readings.
