Hilo, a health technology brand developed by Aktiia, has introduced Hilo Core in the U.S., a long-term blood pressure monitoring system designed to provide continuous insights into cardiovascular health.
The platform aims to move beyond traditional blood pressure checks by offering a more comprehensive understanding of daily trends and patterns.
Hilo Core combines a wearable band, mobile application and FDA-cleared connected cuff to collect physiological data and generate personalised blood pressure insights.
Using Optical Blood Pressure Monitoring (OBPM®) technology, the system analyses wrist-based photoplethysmography (PPG) signals to estimate blood pressure while reducing reliance on frequent cuff-based measurements.
The technology captures around 30–35 readings per day, including overnight data, and combines blood pressure information with metrics such as sleep, activity and heart rate.
This approach enables users to track changes over time and gain better awareness of factors influencing cardiovascular health.
Developed in Switzerland and supported by over two decades of research, Hilo’s technology has been validated through clinical studies and is used by more than 200,000 people globally.
The company also secured an additional $19 million through a Series B extension round, increasing total funding to over $119 million.
Hilo Core is available in the U.S. through Hilo.com and Amazon, offering consumers a new approach to proactive blood pressure management and wellness monitoring.
