UVDI (UltraViolet Devices Inc.), a prominent global manufacturer specializing in advanced ultraviolet (UV) technology for hospital room disinfection and indoor air quality, has proudly announced that their UVDI-360 room sanitizer has been awarded a two-year contract by the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO) in Saudi Arabia. NUPCO is responsible for the procurement, logistics, and supply chain management of medical devices for public hospitals in Saudi Arabia. This contract allows for the efficient supply of UVDI-360 room sanitizers to nearly 400 public hospitals, including those operated by the Ministry of Health, Ministry of the Interior, National Guard, university hospitals, and specialist hospitals.
The tender, identified as NPT0009/22, enables swift deployment of UV devices within Saudi government hospitals by offering pre-negotiated prices and eliminating delivery delays. NUPCO conducted a rigorous review process before awarding the contract, which will remain in effect until 2025.
The UVDI-360 Room Sanitizer provides enhanced patient protection by effectively disinfecting high-risk microorganisms on surfaces following manual cleaning and disinfection procedures. It has been independently proven to inactivate 99.99% of 35 microorganisms within 5 minutes at a distance of 2.44 meters (8 feet), including the challenging Candida auris, which is neutralized within 20 minutes. The efficacy of the UVDI-360 has been validated through 23 clinical and laboratory studies. In Saudi Arabia, distribution of the UVDI-360 is managed by the Scientific and Medical Equipment House (SMEH) Corporation, with Richmond Enterprises representing UVDI throughout the Middle East region.
