Riddle Hospital, a prominent member of Main Line Health, celebrated the grand opening of its new Pavilion today. This remarkable addition, spanning five stories and encompassing 230,000 square feet, brings state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to Delaware County.
The Pavilion is the cornerstone of Riddle Hospital's ambitious $327 million campus modernization project, representing the most significant facility improvement in the hospital's 60-year history and one of Main Line Health's largest capital investments. The construction of the Pavilion commenced in 2020 and has culminated in an impressive array of features.
With 76 new private patient rooms, the Pavilion prioritizes patient comfort and care. The design incorporates abundant natural light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere. The facility also includes ten modern surgical suites, including two robotic systems for minimally invasive procedures. Additionally, the new maternity suites and neonatal intensive care unit allow Riddle Hospital to expand its capacity for caring for 1,800 births per year, a substantial increase.
Beyond the medical facilities, the Pavilion offers an inviting atrium with various shopping and dining options. To accommodate the needs of visitors, a new 174-space parking garage, complete with electric vehicle charging stations, has been constructed. One of the standout features is a stunning mosaic mural displayed in the main lobby. This collaborative artwork is the result of contributions from staff, patients, donors, and community members, showcasing their creativity and unity.
While the Pavilion marks a significant achievement, the overall modernization project at Riddle Hospital is still ongoing and is expected to be completed by summer 2024. The project includes renovations to the existing hospital's intensive care unit and other important care and support areas. These continued efforts demonstrate Riddle Hospital's commitment to delivering top-quality healthcare services and improving patient experiences within the community.
