Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is taking a significant step forward with the initiation of a $75 million Research and Education Institute. The aim of this project is to expand clinical research opportunities and create an innovative interdisciplinary learning environment for physicians, nurses, and researchers. The new institute, expected to open in 2025 next to the health system's hospital in Sarasota, Florida, will span five stories and cover 80,000 square feet.
The primary objective of the Research and Education Institute is to encourage collaboration and discovery in medical education and research. By bringing together skilled physicians, clinical investigators, and nurse educators, the institute will centralize various activities under one roof, providing a conducive setting for physicians, researchers, and clinicians to work collaboratively in a state-of-the-art research and education environment.
In addition to facilitating clinical trials and research studies, the institute will offer a range of education programs. It will also feature a cutting-edge simulation center that will enhance hands-on training opportunities for physicians, nurses, and students who are acquiring expertise in new treatments and technologies.
