Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center has proudly unveiled its latest addition, the Friese Family Tower, as part of its extensive hospital expansion and modernization efforts. This state-of-the-art facility, named in honor of the generous $50 million contribution from the Friese family, signifies a transformative milestone in San Fernando Valley healthcare.
The Friese Family Tower stands as a cornerstone of the Tarzana Reimagined expansion and renovation project, a significant undertaking for the 50-year-old hospital. Within its five-story, 200,000-square-foot structure, the tower introduces several impressive features, including 150 spacious and private patient rooms, an expanded emergency department that effectively doubles its previous capacity, a cutting-edge pharmacy equipped with a pneumatic tubing system, a dedicated pediatric unit featuring a playroom for younger patients, and a separate area for adolescent patients. Additionally, the facility houses a cardiovascular unit and a critical care unit, incorporating advanced technology like a 512-slice CT scanner that promises to advance patient care while broadening access to state-of-the-art diagnostics and treatment options.
With a focus on patient and family needs, the Friese Family Tower ensures comfort and closeness. It offers visitor waiting rooms on all levels and provides recliners and sleeper sofas in all patient rooms, allowing families to stay nearby as their loved ones receive care. Beyond its high-tech infrastructure, the tower is designed to create a healing environment, bringing in natural light and views of the healing garden to guide visitors seamlessly to the emergency department and the new tower elevators.
Providence and Cedars-Sinai are committed to elevating the standards of clinical excellence and enhancing local healthcare programs in vital areas such as women's and children's care, robotic surgery, heart and vascular care, neurosciences, surgical oncology, and emergency care.
