Orlando Health, Acadia Healthcare Break Ground on New Behavioral Health Hospital for Greater Orlando

Friday, February 16, 2024

Orlando Health and Acadia Healthcare celebrated the groundbreaking of a new 144-bed behavioral health hospital in the Orlando metro area today. The event took place at the hospital's future site, 1452 S. Orange Blossom Trail in Apopka, Florida. This facility aims to enhance access to critical mental health services in the region.

Set to open in Spring 2025, the hospital will seamlessly integrate into the Orlando Health system, offering comprehensive inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for adults, seniors, children, and adolescents dealing with acute mental health issues.

Berglund Construction and Stengel Hill Architecture are overseeing the project. Orlando Health plans to transition all inpatient behavioral health services from its South Seminole Hospital Campus to the new facility upon its full operation. Acadia Healthcare, a committed community partner, will collaborate with various organizations, hospitals, and first responders to provide comprehensive care throughout the region.
