Implementation of RayCare with CyberKnife in Clinical Use at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) in Switzerland

Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) has been utilizing RaySearch technology since 2017. In 2021, CHUV expanded its partnership with RaySearch by ordering additional RayStation functionality for automated treatment planning and segmentation using artificial intelligence machine learning techniques. They also invested in RayCare, a comprehensive oncology information system, and RaySearch's oncology analytics system, RayIntelligence.

The implementation of RayCare with CyberKnife at CHUV is a significant milestone in their treatment optimization and operational efficiency program. The integration of RayCare with their advanced radiation delivery system will provide CHUV with increased flexibility and expanded options for treating their high volume of patients. The hospital plans to transition all major radiation oncology activities, including treatment planning, record and verify, workflow management, and data analytics, to RaySearch software.

CHUV and RaySearch are collaborating on various dimensions of treatment optimization and operational efficiency, including optimal machine utilization and exploring new treatment techniques like FLASH radiotherapy. The phased approach will allow CHUV to gradually incorporate RayCare with their other treatment delivery systems.

This implementation represents a major step forward for CHUV, as they move towards a fully automated platform. The collaboration with RaySearch aims to bring improved safety, security, and efficiency to CHUV's treatments. The integration of RayCare and the advanced radiation delivery system will enhance the hospital's ability to provide optimal patient care.
