GE Healthcare and University Hospitals have initiated a strategic partnership spanning a decade, with the aim of improving patient care accessibility in northern Ohio. This collaboration involves the integration of GE Healthcare technologies into the facilities of University Hospitals, particularly in their radiology practice and the UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.

The goal is to introduce cutting-edge equipment and digital solutions, including AI-enabled technologies, across various medical disciplines such as nuclear medicine, X-Ray, ultrasound, CT scans, fluoroscopy, surgery, and bone densitometry. Notably, GE Healthcare will serve as the exclusive provider for these systems.

A pivotal aspect of this collaboration is the implementation of enterprise-wide technology to streamline workflows and assist in clinical decision-making. The incorporation of AI and machine learning-enabled technologies is intended to enhance image quality, reduce scan durations, and augment diagnostic capabilities. Furthermore, it aims to ensure uniformity and productivity for operational efficiency.

The partnership also encompasses continuous technology updates through GE Healthcare's Smart Subscription service, ensuring the longevity and optimal performance of the equipment. The standardization of protocols and automation for CT devices is expected to improve workflow and minimize downtime, facilitating innovation and efficiency across various locations. This collaboration underscores a commitment to ongoing education and training for technologists, students, and physicians to keep them updated with evolving clinical needs.

Additionally, the introduction of a digital Command Center solution, utilizing a cloud-based digital hub, will simplify management across network hospitals. This will improve scheduling, enhance coordination, reduce maintenance-related downtime, and minimize unnecessary patient hospital stays.

GE Healthcare and University Hospitals are dedicated to elevating the quality and efficiency of patient care and clinician workflows across northern Ohio through this partnership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the community.
