EndoSound and AdaptivEndo Unite to Redefine Endoscopy Through Cutting-Edge Innovation
Friday, October 13, 2023
EndoSound, an innovator in endoscopic ultrasound technology (EUS), and AdaptivEndo, a leader in the field of single-use endoscopy solutions, have officially unveiled their plans to collaborate on a groundbreaking initiative aimed at reshaping the endoscopy landscape. This partnership, born out of the shared goal of enhancing patient safety and expanding access to care, seeks to integrate EndoSound's cutting-edge ultrasound technology into the realm of single-use endoscopy.
A notable milestone has been reached in this partnership, as evidenced by the successful completion of an in-vivo porcine animal lab trial. In this trial, both teams showcased their capacity to perform Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) procedures using a single-use AdaptivEndo gastroscope and duodenoscope simultaneously. Notably, this marked a historic achievement as the very first simultaneous EUS/ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) procedure employing a single EUS/ERCP device. EUS plays a critical role in gastroenterology, and traditionally, such procedures have been carried out with reusable endoscopes, which have raised concerns regarding infection control, sterilization, and accessibility to healthcare.
EndoSound's core mission revolves around making EUS safer and more accessible. This is exemplified by their design, which eliminates challenging-to-clean moving parts (elevator) and delivers a product at a fraction of the current costs. By integrating EndoSound's state-of-the-art ultrasound technology into single-use endoscopes, this partnership aims to take these advancements a step further, ultimately offering an even safer and more accessible solution for both patients and healthcare providers.
With a shared vision of advancing patient care and safety, this collaborative effort is poised to transform the field of endoscopy. It addresses critical challenges while introducing cutting-edge technologies into healthcare facilities globally. The collaboration between EndoSound and AdaptivEndo is set to leave a lasting impact on the gastrointestinal community by making endoscopy procedures more efficient, secure, and accessible.
