Collaboration Between THINK Surgical and b-ONE Ortho Corporation: Advancing Robotic Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA)

Thursday, February 15, 2024

THINK Surgical, known for its advancements in orthopedic surgical robotics, has revealed a new collaboration with b-ONE Ortho Corporation, headquartered in Cedar Knolls, NJ. This agreement will see THINK Surgical integrating b-ONE Ortho's implants, including the MOBIO™ Total Knee System, into its ID-HUB™ database. The ID-HUB™ is a proprietary collection of implant modules designed for use with THINK Surgical's TMINI™ Miniature Robotic System.

THINK Surgical is dedicated to offering open platform orthopedic surgical robots that can accommodate implants from various manufacturers. By incorporating b-ONE Ortho's implants into the ID-HUB™, alongside existing systems from four other manufacturers, THINK Surgical aims to enhance the range of implant options available to users of the TMINI system. The TMINI system, which features a wireless robotic handpiece, assists surgeons in performing total knee replacement surgeries and has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. FDA.

The addition of the MOBIO™ Total Knee System to THINK Surgical's ID-HUB database means that b-ONE Ortho's U.S. customers will now have access to robotic-assisted technology for total knee replacement surgeries. THINK Surgical has initiated the development of the implant module and plans to seek FDA clearance in the coming months for the use of the TMINI System with the MOBIO™ Total Knee System.
